'Why Suffer in Jail?': Mithun Chakraborty Advises Partha Chatterjee to Name Those Involved in SSC Scam

Actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty, who had joined the BJP ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections last year, on Thursday advised Partha Chatterjee, who has been arrested by the ED in a school jobs scam, to reveal the identity of those who are involved in the case. As opposition pressure mounted, the Mamata Banerjee-led government today removed Chatterjee from the ministry with immediate effect.

Mithun asserted that he did not believe that Chatterjee owned all the seized money and he “must have been the custodian of the money which belonged to someone else". “Why suffer in jail?" India Today quoted the actor as saying to Chatterjee.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee held a press conference and announced that the party has “decided unanimously to remove Partha Chatterjee from all posts of the TMC".

“Partha Chatterjee, minister in charge, department of industry, commerce and enterprises, department of information technology and electronics, department of parliamentary affairs, and department of public enterprises and industrial reconstruction, is hereby relieved of his duties as MIC of the aforesaid department with immediate effect," an official order issued by the West Bengal government said. Mamata Banerjee said that she will look after the portfolios held by Chatterjee for the time being.

On the other hand, Mithun yesteday claimed that 38 TMC MLAs are in touch with the BJP and of these, 21 legislators are directly in touch with him. “Do you want to hear breaking news? At this moment, 38 TMC MLAs are in touch with the BJP. Out of these, 21 are in direct touch with me. When I was in Mumbai, I read in newspapers one fine morning that the Shiv Sena and the BJP have formed the government in Maharashtra," he said while addressing a presser in Kolkata. He added that the BJP is in power in 18 states, and its flag will “fly high in a few other states very soon".

For the unversed, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Chatterjee on July 23 in connection with its investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment drives by the School Service Commission (SSC). The central agency has also arrested Chatterjee’s close associate Arpita Mukherjee and seized crores of rupees from her houses in different parts of the city.

Tips for bloggers & corporate blogs

Tip 1: Content is king: But please don’t forget keywords

Of course, the content of the blog is an elementary part: but bloggers can create their content in different ways.

The trick is to create interesting content that is peppered with the right keywords that are relevant to the topic and are therefore given a particularly high ranking by Google in the search engine.

The aim is therefore to appear as high as possible in the search results with your own blog using keywords.

However, the so-called keyword stuffing must be avoided at all costs, because the text should still be written in an appealing way for the reader and provide useful content.

In addition, too many keywords in a piece of text will be considered spam by Google.

It is important to define a keyword for each page and find out whether other blogs already rank for this keyword and if so, how many.

It’s about staying as unique as possible with your blog and content. theKeyword Planner can be a useful tool for this, but only if SEA (Search Engine Advertising) campaigns are in place with the appropriate budget.

Tip 2: SEO – use plugins for WordPress

Plugins like YoastSEO extend the functionality of WordPress and help with the following tips for an SEO-optimized blog, says chaktty.

Tip 3: Title Tag – An important ranking factor

In addition to the keywords, a meaningful title tag is the be-all and end-all for an SEO-optimized blog.

But what is a title tag anyway? This is the title of the page or blog that appears in Google search results, as shown in the following example:

According to Techpally magazine, The most important keyword should come first in the title tag. In total, the title tag can be a maximum of 55 characters long in order to be fully displayed in the Google search result.

An attractive and unique style of writing should appeal to the user and encourage him to read the blog.

Tip 4: Appealing meta description to encourage users to click

But a title tag is worth nothing without an appealing and interesting meta description.

This describes in a maximum of 155 characters – otherwise the content will be cut off here as well – briefly and concisely what the blog or page contains and is located in the ad directly under the URL.

Important: The meta description should contain a request to the user, the so-called “call to action”, and HTML icons and follow the AIDA principle ( attention , interest , desire , action ).

The following example shows a successful meta description:

Tip 5: Avoid attachment pages – use plugins

The WordPress plugin Attachment Pages Redirect helps to avoid attachment pages, such as separate pages for a photo, in order to avoid duplicate content, so that the Googlebot only crawls the really important parts of the blog.

Tip 6: Use headings to structure the blog text

H headings break up text into meaningful sections and are great for keyword placement.

Each piece of text should definitely have a meaningful H1 heading that succinctly describes the topic of the blog entry.

All other headings are graded hierarchically (H2, H3, H4), which in most cases are further H2 headings unless a new subtopic is opened in the blog entry.

Tip 7: Create internal links in the blog

Useful internal links in the blog link the individual blog entries with each other.

It should be noted that the link text is always the same. Example: A page with the URL www.techpally.com/wordpress-seo is ideally linked with the link text “WordPress SEO” and not with the link text “Here” or “Check out this article”.

In addition, entire sentences or URLs are never linked, only the corresponding link text.

Tip 8: Image optimization

A meaningful file name should always be chosen for images: Instead of “img1234”, for example, the file name “funny-cat-meme.jpg” is suitable for the meme with cats below.

The file name is written in lower case and the individual words are separated by hyphens.

Important: The images should be uploaded as compressed as possible. The program Tiny png is recommended for this, says businesspally boss.

Tip 9: Maintain alt tags and title tags for images

The alt tag for images can be five to ten words long and should not contain any filler words.

It is about describing as concisely and concisely as possible what the user sees in the picture.

It is also a good idea to place keywords here. The title tag for an image is visible to the user when they move the mouse over the image (mouseover).

Therefore, unlike the alt tag, which can be grammatically incorrect and abbreviated, the title tag should be beautifully and attractively worded.

Tip 10: Secure backlinks

According to businesspally, The more backlinks – links that point back to your own blog – a page has, the more important the blog becomes for Google and the higher it ranks in the search results.

Therefore, communication with other bloggers is very useful for visibility on the web: by exchanging links with “colleagues”, more backlinks are generated, which means that your own blog increases in ranking. But beware: The links should always be authentic and not bought!

Google recognizes when backlinks have been bought and are not genuine, so the blog’s ranking is automatically downgraded.

With our ten valuable SEO tips, nothing stands in the way of increased visibility for your own blog on the web.

2 Sidhu Moose Wala Murder Suspects Killed In 4-Hour Encounter With Punjab Police

Two gangsters, suspected to be among the shooters in singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder, were killed in a shootout with the police near Amritsar today. Three policemen were injured too. While Jagroop Singh Roopa was killed first, the other suspect, Manpreet Singh alias Mannu Kussa, continued to fire for about an hour before he was killed around 4 pm, in a shootout that lasted more than four hours, officials said.

In the crossfire, a news channel's cameraperson got a bullet injury in his right leg.

State police chief Gaurav Yadav also reached the site by the end of the encounter at Bhakna village, 20 km from Amritsar, amid reports that there were two more men inside the house where these two were holed up. That could not be confirmed as yet. "An AK-47 rifle, a pistol and a large number of bullets have been found," ADGP Pramod Ban, who heads Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force, told reporters at the site.

The encounter started around noon as the task force had been tailing the two men. They were among three shooters who were still on the run. While these two were tracked down, Deepak Mundi has not been traced yet. The rest -- there were at least eight shooters -- have been arrested.

Ambulances had reached the spot just minutes before police declared Jagroop Roopa dead. The area, around 10 km from the border with Pakistan, had been cordoned off and people told to stay indoors.

Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh, alias Mannu Kussa, belonged to villages in Tarn Taran, in the same border belt where the encounter took place.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, alias Sidhu Moose Wala, 28, who was a Congress leader besides being a singer-songwriter and rapper, was shot dead near his village Moosa in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29.

Mannu Kussa had fired the first shots at Moose Wala from an AK-47 rifle, police sources said.

Police from Punjab, Delhi and Mumbai are on the case. The murder was directed allegedly by Canada-based Satinderjit Singh, alias Goldy Brar, in coordination with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was already in Delhi's Tihar Jail.

Goldy Brar is alleged to have claimed responsibility for the murder through Facebook posts. The posts said it was revenge for the murder of an Akali leader Vicky Middukhera last year. Interpol has since issued a Red Corner Notice to trace Goldy Brar in connection with two other cases registered at Faridkot in Punjab.

Punjab's Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government has been facing questions, too, as the murder took place just a day after Sidhu Moose Wala's security was cut down to two cops as part of a larger drive against "VIP culture". However, the singer hadn't taken the two cops along, nor was he using his bulletproof car, when he was attacked.

Apple’s iPhone 14 Max could be in short supply at launch; here’s why

Apple’s iPhone 14 Max could be in short supply when it launches in the fall, Display analyst Ross Young said in a tweet. For Apple fans, this means that it’s going to be especially difficult to get one on the first few days it’s available.

Cupertino is expected to launch four new iPhone 14 models this year, including the iPhone 14 Max. Rumour has it that the iPhone 14 Max which will replace the iPhone 13 Mini and — aspect ratio margins aside — is approximately the same size as the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Young claims that display panel shipments for the new models are “way behind” where they should be. It appears that the iPhone 14 Max will have a unique display component. While it will be identical to the size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, its panel lacks Apple’s ProMotion technology. 9to5Mac pointed out that Young’s claim is based on far more recent supply chain data.

The iPhone 14 Max is the most anticipated smartphone of this year, and there are quite a lot of factors behind why the consumer anticipation for this model is high. It’s claimed the iPhone 14 Max will have a 6.7-inch display, which puts it in line with the iPhone 13 Pro Max model and therefore likely the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Consumers want an iPhone with a bigger screen but not everyone can afford the iPhone 13 Pro Max. If Apple launches the iPhone 14 Max starting at $899, it would be $300 cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro Max which reportedly cost $1,199 for the base model. That $300 price difference between the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Max could drive demand for the more ‘affordable’ 6.7-inch iPhone among mainstream smartphone users.

Multiple leaks have claimed that rising component costs and Apple’s new strategy to differentiate between “pro” and “non-pro” models will push the prices of new iPhones this year.  Expect at least a $100 price increase is coming for the iPhone 14 series. That’s according to Dan Ives, head of the analyst group Wedbush Securities. Prices have been increasing across the whole supply chain, and Cupertino needs to pass these costs to the consumer on this release,” Ives told The Sun.

Apple will launch two standard iPhones, namely the iPhone 14 and the all-new iPhone 14 Max, and two Pro models. The iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max will come with a notch, while the pro models will feature a pill-shaped cut-out for the FaceID. To further differentiate between “pro” and “non-pro” models, the Pros will come with a new A16 chip. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max will be powered by the A15, the same chip that powers the iPhone 13. As Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman points out, standard iPhone 14 models will share far fewer Pro features than in previous generations, meaning they won’t have the new 48MP wide-angle camera which will be seen on the iPhone 14 Pro models.

iPhone 14 series could be announced on September 13, though nothing has been confirmed as of now. Apple typically announces new iPhones in September which is the beginning of the busy holiday shopping season in the US.

GMR Aviation Academy signs MoU with NFSU to focus on aviation forensics and cyber security

GMR Aviation Academy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Forensic Science University (NFSU) to develop and extend educational programmes in the field of aviation forensics and cyber security, a statement said on Wednesday.

As per the MoU, the GMR Group will sponsor domestic and international students in the field of aviation cyber security with one-year of onsite training at GMR Airports, its statement said.

GMR Airports, part of the GMR Group, manage and operate airports in Hyderabad and Delhi in India.

A research centre, certified by NFSU, will be set up in the campus of GMR Aviation Academy in Hyderabad, as per the MoU, the statement noted.

“NFSU scholars can pursue a full-time PhD in aviation forensics and cyber security domain at this unique centre with research and development opportunities in the live airport environment,” it mentioned.

Technology and digitization have brought many advantages to the aviation sector, but at the same time, these have created challenges in managing cyber vulnerabilities in such a complex environment, said Ashwani Lohani, CEO of GMR Services Business.

The aviation industry has been an attractive target for cyber attackers.

“Especially after the COVID-19, cyber attacks and threats have increased many folds, and organizations are in search of cyber security and forensics experts to create a cyber shield against any kind of cyber threats,” Lohani noted.

There is a huge shortage of trained cyber security and forensics experts in the country, and in the world, he mentioned.

“In fact, there is a vast opportunity for such cyber security professionals, and bulk-hiring requirements exist for these professionals once they successfully complete these courses,” he noted.

Gurgaon couple arrested at IGI Airport with 45 handguns

The customs department at Indira Gandhi International Airport has arrested an Indian couple returning from Vietnam after they were found to be in possession of 45 handguns worth Rs 22.5 lakh. In a preliminary report, the National Security Guard, after examination, confirmed that the guns are fully functional and can be used with .22 calibre.

The accused, identified as Jagjeet Singh (41) and Jaswinder Kaur (31), are learnt to have admitted to previously smuggling 25 guns from Turkey worth Rs 12.5 lakhs, officials said. Officials handed over their infant daughter, who was travelling with them, to her grandmother. Investigation revealed that they were procuring a handgun for Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 and selling it for Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000, officials said.

“Ballistics report will confirm whether the guns are real. But in a preliminary report, the NSG has confirmed that the guns are functional,” an official said.

Customs commissioner Zubair Kamili said the family arrived from Vietnam on July 11. He said Jagjeet was carrying two trolley bags which were allegedly handed to him by his elder brother, who had arrived from Paris around the same time that day and left the airport. Investigators believe the guns may have been brought from Paris

Jaswinder allegedly helped Jagjeet remove the tags on the bags, which contained the firearms. The customs officers intercepted the couple while they were moving to the exit gate, and found the guns.

Kamili said: “The accused were arrested under section 104 of the Customs Act (power to arrest), and the trolleys along with firearms were seized under section 110 of the Act (seizure of goods.) Further investigation is in progress.”

“The couple are in the exports and construction business. They have been staying in Gurgaon for the past five years. They went to Vietnam six days ago,” the officials said.

During questioning, the couple claimed they were told by one of their friends that it is legal to procure handguns from abroad and sell them in India.

Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena To Back NDA's Droupadi Murmu For President: Sources

The Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray has given in to its MPs' demand and will support Droupadi Murmu, the BJP-led NDA's candidate, in the Presidential polls on July 18, sources have told NDTV. The party is already stunted after Eknath Shinde broke away and replaced Mr Thackeray as Chief Minister of Maharashtra with the BJP's support.

The decision to support Ms Murmu comes a day after 16 of the party's 22 MPs told Mr Thackeray to support her "because she is a woman from a tribal community". If elected — which is all but done as the NDA has the numbers — she'll be the first tribal woman to be President of India. That's a factor in Maharashtra, where nearly 10 per cent of the population is of Scheduled Tribes.

Team Thackeray's Sanjay Raut had said yesterday that supporting Ms Murmu would "not mean supporting BJP".

During the Sena mutiny last month, Mr Shinde's faction had been demanding that Uddhav Thackeray ditch the Congress and NCP, to get back with "natural ally" BJP. But Mr Thackeray refused and had to resign after the majority of his MLAs sided with Mr Shinde.

Yesterday was another test of strength as Uddhav Thackeray called a meeting of the party's MPs — 22 in all, including 19 in the Lok Sabha, three in Rajya Sabha. Six of them who are with Eknath Shinde — thus already standing in Ms Murmu's corner — did not turn up. And the view of the 16 Thackeray loyalists was also in sync, in favour of Ms Murmu. The party had little choice as there is no binding 'whip' in these elections, so the MPs can vote as they please.

The Shiv Sena was earlier backing former union minister Yashwant Sinha — who had a long stint with the BJP before a fallout some years ago — as a "joint Opposition candidate", though several non-NDA parties have chosen to back Ms Murmu citing her tribal identity.

July 4 Gunman Planned Attack For Weeks, Wore Women's Clothes: Police

US police said Tuesday that the suspected gunman who opened fire at a July 4 holiday parade in a Chicago suburb had planned the attack for weeks and wore women's clothes to try to cover up his facial tattoos.

Police confirmed that the alleged shooter, Robert "Bobby" Crimo, 21, bought the gun legally, adding that the victims of the attack appeared to have been targeted at random.

"We do believe Crimo pre-planned this attack for several weeks. He brought a high-powered rifle to this parade," police spokesman Chris Covelli told reporters.

"He accessed the roof of a business via a fire escape ladder and began opening fire.

"Crimo was dressed in women's clothing, and investigators do believe he did this to conceal his facial tattoos and his identity during his escape."

Six people were killed and more than two dozen injured in the shooting, in which Crimo fired more than 70 rounds. He was arrested hours after the attack

"Crimo exited the rood, he dropped his rifle and he blended in with the crowd," Covelli said.
